Yonge/Bloor Subway Domination Ad Coverage
  • Yonge/Bloor Subway Domination Ad Coverage
CBC Takeover of Toronto's  Prime Downtown Subway Station
  • For the month of January, 2011, the CBC bought out pretty much every single spot that could have some sort of ad placed on it at the Yonge/Bloor subway station. With adverts depicting new and returning properties alike, it was impossible not to be exposed to CBC's television programing if you passed through Toronto's busiest subway station.

CBC's senior art director hired me to get shots of the station, depicting its ad takeover. These were to be used for internal news letters, company presentations, and awards shows. The idea was to show case CBC's advertising efforts in the hustle-bustle of the station. We had a permit for the shoot (during non-peak hours) and no flash photography was allowed. Most shots were long exposures at iso 200 (the previous photographer shot at iso 800 which meant the art director couldn't get good prints of his work) at apertures no lower than F/8.
